TRAQS Florida 2017

Our weekend of intense fun and learning will be held at the Lake Placid Camp & Conference Center, located at Lake Placid, Florida. The camp is the former winter home for Melvil Dewey, the inventor of the famous Dewey Decimal System. Two of the buildings from Dewey’s original Lake Placid Club are still in use by the camp today.

The venue features a beautiful Florida white sand beach situated around a clean lake, as well as other amenities.  Your registration includes six meals, lodging, instruction/mentoring, morning yoga, Friday evening bonfire and interactive presentations.  You will have the opportunity to select  your dietary preference upon registration. Registration also includes our beautiful inaugural shirt and all the fun and camaraderie you can experience.

Florida Event Venue

Lake Placid Camp & Conference Center is centrally located just 85 miles south of Orlando, 150 miles north of Miami and 75 miles from the eastern and western Florida coasts.  Visit our Florida Fun page which lists a sampling of suggested attractions to enjoy during the warm weather getaway vacation for you and your family.

Camp & Conference Center Use Agreement

We are privileged to have the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful environment for our weekend.  Please take a moment to review the attached PDF of the camp rules so that we will be enthusiastically welcomed back next year.

In a nutshell (but please read the rules document anyway), we are agreeing to vacate all facilities in the same condition as when we arrive and are responsible for any damages or missing items.

Quiet time is observed from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. (refrain from howling at the moon). Music that is audible outside of a building is not permitted ( Ohmm and chanting, are ok).

Please only park on blacktop only as there are water pipes that may be damaged or extreme sandy surfaces that will deter traction.

Enter dining hall through the Patio/Bell Tower door (south entrance).  No bikinis or speedos permitted in the dining area – tuiliks, are ok.

Thank you.
